A few years ago, I read a book that asked a thought provoking question. The question was, “If your life was a business, would anyone invest in it”?
When I ask people this question, I always get the strangest facial expressions. As a young business man, I learned years ago that if you are going to be successful in business, you must have a business plan. A business plan defines your mission, vision, and purpose. It communicates your values and establishes where you are, where your going, why your services on products are needed and your strengths and weaknesses compared to competitive companies. It also looks at industry trends and projects the future, both short-term and long-term, it establishes measurable objectives for one, three, five, and sometimes as far out as ten years, I heard a business man say that “If you fail to plan, then plan to fail”.
It’s funny how business works, because without this plan, you will never attract legitimate investors.
I have learned over the years, that there are two types of plans. There are the plans that we make based on our natural abilities and there are plans that God puts in our heart that is based on his supernatural abilities.
Our God is a God who has a plan, a mission, a vision, and a purpose for everything under heaven and everything in heaven too.
He has a plan for you, for me, for spirit, our soul, our body, our family, for our music, our churches, our nation, our states, cities, and communities. He has a plan for everything.
Our challenge is to take the time to set at his feet and spend the time in his word and in his presence until he shows us his plans. I hope you will start today and allow God the time to show you his plans for you. Remember, There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12 God says that his plans for you are to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
How do we get from the land of not enough or just enough, into God’s promised land of more than enough?
I have concluded this article with what I believe will be a helpful road map to get you from where you are to where God wants to take you.
Start at his feet and listen to his word, his plan, his ways. Write it down (Remember if you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there)
Renew your mind and your thinking by allowing his word to wash your thoughts.
Make a commitment to start doing whatever God has said, whatever he is saying and whatever he is going to say in the future. Its his ways, It’s his will and his thoughts and our stewardship of what he reveals to us regarding his way, his will, his thoughts that brings successful transition.
Be content with what you have, where you are.
Be a good steward of what God has placed in your hands to manage, (The blessing of God depends on what you have now and how you manage what you have now, not on what you don’t have or what you want) Be faithful with that which is least and God will give you more.
Tithe (If for no other reason, do it for the great promises regarding tithing)
Know, Understand, Believe, Confess, Fight For, and Receive the Promises of God.
Be patient and allow God to bring victory / Breakthrough in His Timing.
Remember, It’s God’s plan that we as Christians must seek. It’s plans that will change our would and bring lasting success, so surrender again today to lay down your life, your will, your visions, and dreams and commit to a fresh pursuit of God’s plans for your life.
